Places We've Loved, 2007
Painted in warm, layered tones of transparent iron oxides, with details of black and vermilion sumi ink mixed to a dark reddish brown (chaboku), these paintings come from all the watery places I’ve loved. Some are painted on oriented structure board, which provides a textural ground; sculptural underlayers create movement in the water and sky.
